CII Breakthrough Strategy Committee

The Breakthrough Strategy Committee focuses on identifying research topics that are believed to have breakthrough potential for the construction industry. This group canvasses various sources for ideas and assesses the breakthrough potential before developing a “business plan” for further use as possible research topics. Other industries are reviewed for advances that may have breakthrough potential for the construction industry.

 

CII Front End Planning Community of Practice (FEPCOP)

The Front End Planning Community of Practice (FEPCOP) is a formal venue for the exchange of knowledge relative to Front End Planning processes, procedures, tools and lessons learned for all types of capital projects – with a goal to ensure more effective implementation. The FEPCOP is composed of members who share a vision of Front End Planning as a best practice that facilitates improvement in the cost effectiveness of capital investments.

 

Fiatech Board of Advisors

FIATECH is a consortium of industries and companies including the leading providers of engineering, design, and construction services and some of the most influential technology providers in the world. They are all united by one goal – to make a step change improvement in the design, engineering, construction, and maintenance of large capital assets. FIATECH is a clearing house for breakthrough ideas, a market place of best practices, innovations, and creative solutions.


Funding Research

Royal Roads University (Faculty of Management)

From leading-edge programs designed for experienced professionals to innovative programs that balance face-to-face interaction and online learning. Royal Roads University helps create accountable and responsible managers with the skills, knowledge and insight to understand their organizations, work effectively with others, and execute strategies for success.  Led by faculty with real-world experience in management and industry, the programs deliver a rich, dynamic learning experience. Research participation is part of the capstone program required for MBA completion.

NSERC Research Project

Coreworx is working with the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (SNERC) on a Collaborative Research and Development (CRD) Project with the University of Waterloo. NSERC aims to make Canada a country of discoverers and innovators for the benefit of all Canadians. The agency supports university students in their advanced studies, promotes and supports discovery research, and fosters innovation by encouraging Canadian companies to participate and invest in postsecondary research projects. NSERC researchers are on the vanguard of science, building on Canada’s long tradition of scientific excellence.
